Meet me halfway across the sky

Like I always say, “its been quite a while…” Time passes by quickly, and come to think of it, a huge part of my stay in Shanghai has flew past without warning.
Shopping has become the best sport in this city... having to stand and walk for hours, lifting heavy paper bags... woot... good exercise...

Managed to travel to a few parts of China, namely Nanjing, and Wu Yuan... Nanjing we visit the usual places of interest, the Mr Sun tomb, the Fu Zhi temple, and the parliament house. Overall, it was quite an experience... from the start, it was a test of endurance on the bus... with a few breaks in between, we managed to land our sore butts in the city. Before we knew it, we are faced with this huge flight of stairs... I think all the tours in China sure have to climb one. Anyway, paid liao so no choice have to start climbing... each step go pass with the increase in the yearning to see what is awaiting us at the top... The top is non other the old man’s tomb... managed to squeeze in and take a look at it. Before going in, I remembered me asking some of my friends, they gave me a smile and say, "not bad!” After I went in myself, I never knew that squeezing with over 100 people in a small stuffy room after climbing so many steps was actually not bad... Anyway, when I come out, I also show the same smile to my friends and say, "not bad!”

The night scene was decorated by the many colorful lights.
We take a walk around the fu zhi temple, see see look look, bargain bargain, and take a bit of pictures here and there. But one thing caught my attention... the shops actually hire people to stand outside the shop, doing nothing but clap hands... quite an interesting way to attach customers...

The next day we went to the nanjing parliament. Nothing really fantastic la... just like those olden times office and buildings... really nothing fantastic... maybe, its meant to be this way... Wahahaha...

Wu Yuan was a place where people go for small bridge flowing water.
We visited those stone coves which they said was covered with water for many many donkey years... It was quite a sight, something like those kongfu shows where the people fell inside the cove and they meet some kind of super power old man, then they have secret training inside... with the sunlight piercing through the opening of the coves... quite impressive... at least next time I see those shows again I can relate better.

We then visited some old houses in those small villages. Mostly build with wood and have intricate cavings on every wooden surface of the house. Last time people don really have a lot of things to do... everyday spend their time sitting in the main hall, master one side, the wife another side, separated by the tea table with a huge painting on the wall behind them. The place quite ok la... but given the fact we traveled so long until our ass quite pain le, the marginal utility of the places just drop like crap...

The last day we went to climb mountain again... climb and climb, and climb... till we reach the suspended bridge on the top connecting two summits... Its said that last time the dragon king once came to the mountain and take a rest... thats why there is a temple right at the top of the mountains... Chinese very good at cooking out this type of stories...

When I was in the middle of the stupid bridge, some people from the side go shake the bridge, small shake at the sides become big shake at the middle... wah lao... damn scary... I some more go look down... the height blardy scary sia... Then I found out that my camera was dangling on my right hand... and my left hand was holding on to the rope. I chop chop let go of my left hand, keep my camera in my pocket and use 2 hands to hold on to the ropes at either side of me... then slowly proceed to the next side. Anyway, climb so hard at least managed to take a picture of the view... great wind, great view but sucks when wanna take picture and some “friends of china” came by, stand in front of the camera and act blur.

Some say its good that Shanghai was occupied by foreigners... cos because of that, the city develop fast, and most importantly, there are many good food... such as the jap curry,Cocoichibanya... comes with a choice of the ingredients, from fish to pork to beef to vege, and a choice of 5 levels of spiciness, and the exact amount of rice to go along. I ordered lev 4... not too bad I must say, really will perspire after eating...

We went to jap buffet too... whack a bit of each... some of the interesting things include the horse sashimi,
and the sea urchin... The key to eating the horse meat is to tell your self it's a nice piece of meat that taste wonderful... never go imagine how the horse look like and how it sound like... I dunno how to describe the taste of the urchin. its soft, can really melt in your mouth and that taste rather alright... But given the fact that its so hard to prepare, have to give chance a bit. That night our staple food is Big prawn tempura. At every sight of the waitress, we will order 12 of them... and in the end, we had so much of the prawns that we have to play guessing game to eat the rest of them... We wrapped the dinner up with 3 bottles of sake, 2 cold and 1 hot... Taste like rum I think, and its not advisable to hold the wine too long in the mouth...

Every start of a laughter comes with it an end...
and when everything became quiet, we began to see what are the things that we hold on closest to our hearts. As I lift my head to look at the sky, I know I am looking at the very same sky above you...

“Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
to only you and I“
